If this site had a category "Forgotten Classics", then "The Green Glove" surely would be included. The plot is fairly simple - an American soldier, down on his luck, returns to post WW2 France in the hope of locating a mysterious relic - the eponymous Green Glove - which he had been forced to leave behind when escaping from German forces. Glenn Ford (who also played Johnathan Kent in 1978's "Superman")is our hero and Geraldine Brooks the love interest. The film is reminiscent of "The 39 Steps" (which pre-dated it by 17 years)- one scene appears to have been lifted, wholesale. "The Green Glove" might not be the best film ever made, but it is good, solid entertainment and well worth watching.
